Process / documents from Head off produced during the three months residency at CHD Daumézon, Fleury-les-Aubrais, 2015.

A mixture of odors of medicines and disused premises permeates the hospital grounds, including the park. This permanent odor, which has become imperceptible to hospital users, acts like a sort of invisible straitjacket. Despite a flourishing park, the atmosphere is heavy and oppressive. The invisible responds to perfumes, which I will call compounds (assemblage of maximum 5 essential oils); the goal is not to produce a decorative or pleasant scent but to use the chemical components of essential oils for their psychoactive and physiological properties.
Classic perfumes are divided into several notes: the top note, the heart note and the base note. The top note is often a volatile and ephemeral smell (e.g. citrus scents), the heart note is more lasting and sweet (often produced by flowers) and the base note, which fixes the whole, is necessary for the perfume to last over time.
I use these principles in the compounds created specifically, addressed to different parts of the body, and from which arise the sculptural proposals which optimize their diffusion.
