Perception = water circulation

Immersion and unitary vision of life

The immersion takes place in real and long time, in places or phenomena. Most of the time this involves field work, anchored in a territory and its specificities.
This step is essential, because it allows me to become aware, that is to say, to achieve systemic knowledge: physical, sensitive and intellectual. It is the first material of my work.
This immersion is enriched by links with environmental specialists in the broad sense: naturalists, foresters, hydrographers, geologists, biologists... who bring me their specific knowledge and with whom I often collaborate.

The duration of the research work is substantial: for the sculptures as for the films, it is on average one to two years of work. The Gastrula sculpture, for example, required three years of research.

Thanks to this long and thorough immersion, I literally metabolize the context; I am part of it, just as it becomes part of me. All subsequent developments in work are rooted in this requirement.

Just as the implication in reality is the taking into account of the sensitive, the sculptures take into account the physical reality of materials and forms, which resonate physiologically.
Some sculptures produce an Altered State of Consciousness characterized by Alpha brain waves. What follows is a synchronization of the two hemispheres, a readjustment to the needs of the body, in the present moment and inner silence.

In the context of my work, it is the condition from which a reconnection with nature takes place, through the reintegration of a larger part of ourselves.

By inhabiting and being inhabited by the living, I seek to heal an alienated relationship with nature.
It is also an attempt to restore a holistic and ancient memory, which testifies to the sensitive and biological continuity between beings.

Ecological thinking is above all a practice of connection, and in our culture, of metamorphosis.

Water…

Water, the bearer of life, is a model of intelligence.
It connects all dimensions, all living phenomena and their expression.
Since water literally carries perception, it is the channel of consciousness.

Following the flow of water, listening to its story is at the same time paying attention to human consciousness.
